Sexual Exploitation

The SWAN Project

Thrive Women’s Aid is pleased to provide a new service in Neath & Port Talbot to support women who are sexually exploited.

The SWAN project provides practical and emotional support to improve the safety and wellbeing of women who are exploited by the sex industry through street sex work, parlour sex work or online and cam work. We offer a flexible and non-judgemental service through 1:1 appointments, outreach provision and crisis support. We provide a quick response to address the immediate support needs of women who are sexually exploited.

The type of support offered includes:

  • Personal safety advice
  • Provision of condoms, food, clothing and other essential items.
  • Access to Ugly Mugs reporting and alerts to promote safety
  • Advocacy to address individual needs
  • Translation services for individuals whose preferred language is not English.
  • Help to report concerns or crime to the police

We can also support women to access and navigate services such as

  • Housing Options
  • Sexual Health Service
  • Mental Health Service
  • Drug and Alcohol Agencies
  • SARC—Sexual Assault Referral Centre

The SWAN Project is a confidential and independent project, if you’d like more information on the work we do or how we could support you, please call us on 01639 894864
